The Queen was not asked about Harry and Meghan calling baby daughter “Lilibet”, claims Palace source

The Queen was not consulted by Harry and Meghan about naming their daughter Lilibet.

Palace sources have told the BBC the Queen was “never asked” about the controversial choice.

Lilibet is the childhood nickname used by the Queen.

It is redolent of her childhood and personal history.

The source told the broadcaster that Harry and the Queen spoke before the birth of Lilibet, and he “would have mentioned” the name.

However, this was not the case, and the Queen was “never asked” about its use.
