Queen and Prince Philip to spend Christmas “quietly” at Windsor Castle

 The Queen and Prince Philip will spend their Christmas at Windsor Castle.

The decision ends a tradition of going to Sandringham, an estate in Norfolk.

It’s the first time they’ve not shared the festive season with family in 33 years.

A Royal spokesperson said:

“Having considered all the appropriate advice, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have decided that this year they will spend Christmas quietly in Windsor.”
