Wine duffers can soon become bluffers after Aldi launched its own free course on knowing what’s what about the nation’s top tipple.
More than 60% of the UK’s wine shoppers feel “daunted” by the choices before them.
The “Aldiploma” will help them sort out the reds from the whites: The Pinot Gris from the Pinot Noir; the Merlot from the Malbec.
The course comes in six online modules and video tutorials by wine expert, Mistress of Wine, Sam Caporn.
Each lesson will be accompanied by a case of different wines – which you need to buy from Aldi.
Sam said: “As one of only 382 Masters of Wine worldwide, it’s fair to say I know my Malbec from my Merlot – but that hasn’t always been the case.
“Rewind twenty years and I was just a wine lover with none of the technical knowledge I have now.
“Aldi is known for its affordable, great quality wines so this creates the perfect platform to help consumers try new things and gain the perfect introduction to the world of wine.”
