War, drought, protest and prime ministers: The most striking images from a tumultuous year

It’s been a very busy year. There was war in Europe, the Queen’s death, record heatwaves, flooding, protests all over the globe, and three prime ministers.

With striking images that capture key moments in history, photographers have captured the major news events of 2022.

This year, pictures are everything.
