Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy called a Tory minister “a c…” seconds after an interview.

Guru-Murthy was quizzing Steve Baker, the Minister for Northern Ireland, about the resignation of Home Secretary Suella Braverman.

The offending clip was not played out live on air but later appeared online.

After a feisty on-screen debate Guru-Murthy and Mr Baker continued the exchange off camera.

Guru-Murthy is heard shouting: .

“It wasn’t a stupid question Steve, you know it.

“I’m very happy to go up against you on [PM] Truss  any day.”

The presenter is then heard laughing, before muttering to himself the four-letter expletive.

The went viral and Guru-Murthy has since apologised.

The veteran presenter tweeted:

“After a robust interview with Steve Baker MP I used a very offensive word in an unguarded moment off air.

“While it was not broadcast that word in any context is beneath the standards I set myself and I apologise unreservedly.

“I have reached out to Steve Baker to say sorry.”

Mr Baker replied: “I appreciate you apologising.

“Thank you.”
