Poorly Prince Philip home in time for Christmas

The Duke of Edinburgh has been released from hospital in time to be with the Queen over Christmas.

He’d spent four nights in the King Edward VII’s Hospital in London.

He was having treatment for a “pre-existing condition”.

It’s assumed that Prince Philip, 98, will head for Sandringham to spend time with the Queen and other members of the Royal Family.

It’s not thought he will be fit enough to attend the traditional Christmas Day morning service at the Church of Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate.

On a visit to flood hit communities in South Yorkshire on Friday Prince Charles told a well-wisher:

“When you get to that age things don’t work so well.”
