Choosing to bowl their 50 overs first, Flintham took to the field.

Balderton struggled initially.

Opener Ryan Charlesworth scoring 21 and Chale Neshaharan 19 before Shalith Fernando came to the crease and hit 47.

Shalith was clean bowled; the first victim of Flintham’s Captain Max Danby.

Wickets then continued to fall, and apart from a cameo of 34 from Jamie Gilbertson, the score didn’t really progress.

Balderton finishing on 162, being bowled out in just 35.3 overs.

Bowler of the day was Max Danby, a captain clearly leading by example, by taking seven of the ten wickets that fell.

The other wicket takers were Jack Playle (one) and Spencer Taylor (two).

Balderton losing their last six wickets for just 32 runs.

After the innings break, Flintham took to the crease.

A solid start was made but two wickets fell in consecutive overs.

JJ Arthur falling for 36 in the sixth over and Michael Playle in the seventh over for just one run.

The other opener Max Pritchard was part of a 50-run partnership with Spencer Taylor before being cleaned bowled for 36 runs.

He was replaced by wicket keeper Matt Winn who worked alongside Spencer until they achieved the required score.

They finally finished on 164 in the 32nd over with Spencer finishing on an unbeaten 62 off just 68 balls.
