Scotland Yard issues 30 more fixed penalty notices for Downing Street parties

The Metropolitan Police is to hand out another block of “partygate” fines – so far taking the total to more than 50.

Last month Scotland Yard said it was issuing 20 fixed penalty notices.

The force has followed that up with another 30 or more.

The fines cover lockdown-busting parties in Whitehall and Downing Street.

The Met said:

“As of Tuesday, 12 April 2022 we have made over 50 referrals for fixed penalty notices (FPN) to the ACRO Criminal Records Office for breaches of Covid-19 regulations who following the referral issue the FPNs to the individual.

“We are making every effort to progress this investigation at speed, this includes continuing to assess significant amounts of investigative material from which further referrals may be made to ACRO [Criminal Records Office].”

It is still unknown if the Prime Minister Boris Johnson is among those issued with a penalty notice.
