Attorney General to review jail sentences of Pc Andrew Harper’s teenager killers

The prison sentences for the three teenage killers of Pc Andrew Harper will be reviewed to see if they were “too lenient”

Harry Long, 19, Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole – both aged 18 – were jailed for manslaughter.

The Thames Valley officer was investigating the theft of a quad bike in Berkshire last August.

As the thieves drove off Pc Harper became entangled in a towrope tied to the getaway car.

He was dragged for one mile and died from “catastrophic injuries”.

Long was sentenced to 16 years in prison, while Bowers and Cole were given jail sentences of 13 years.
