One year of civilian life on the frontline of Ukraine’s war

Sky News sought out Ukrainians who could record their experiences in war-torn Ukraine after Russia invaded it on February 24, 2022.

Oksana Koshel, Ilyas Verdiev and Seva Koshel, have been recording audio voice recordings for Sky News Ukraine War Diaries podcast for almost a year. Their diaries have been listened to nearly 4 million times.

Ilyas, an IT professional, lives in Kyiv. His wife Natalia, and their two sons, fled to Poland during the conflict.

Oksana works as a married professional. She also resides in Kyiv. Seva, her husband is a CEO of a company and a military volunteer.

Ilyas and Oksana have witnessed extraordinary events during 12 months of war.
