Emma Raducanu parts with tennis coach days after lifting US Open trophy

Teenage tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has parted with her coach only days after winning the US Open.

Raducanu, 18, entered the tournament as a qualifier – and went on the lift the trophy without dropping a set.

She shot from being world ranked in the mid-300s to number 22.

Since then, she has parted with coach Andrew Richardson and is looking for someone with WTA tour experience.

Richardson was her coach at her local Bromley tennis centre.

Raducanu said:

“I’m looking for someone who has been at WTA level and knows what it takes.

“And especially right now because I’m so new to it, I really need someone to guide me who’s already been through that.

“At the time, I thought Andrew would be a great coach to trial, so we went to the States, but never did I even dream of winning the U.S. Open and having the run I did, and now I’m ranked No. 22 in the world, which is pretty crazy to me.”

A decision on Richardson’s full-time replacement will be made at the end of the season.
