Now, the group has been “removed” from supporting Gogol Bordello, a Ukrainian-American band.

Bob Vylan was booked for the 37-day tour at 13 venues.

Gogol Bordello said:

“In the aftermath, we needed to evaluate the situation, and we decided to remove BV from the tour until we could fully comprehend the situation.”

Other tour dates with Gogol Bordello in Germany were cancelled.

Gigs in Manchester and France have also scrubbed.

Masked protestors in Amsterdam threatened to riot if Bob Vylan played in the Dutch capital at the Paradiso in September.

Police began an investigation after two masked men unfurled a banner that stated:

“If Bob Vylan plays that night/ Amsterdam will stand and fight.”

In a contrary statement, Bob Vylan said:

“Due to logistical complications, we have decided not to join our friends Gogol Bordello on their upcoming European tour.

“However, we will be heading to Europe in the coming months for both festivals and headline shows.”

Volker Beck, the president of the German-Israeli Society, had called for a ban on what Bild, a German tabloid, called “hate musicians”.

He said: “People like that disrupt security and order in our country; they have no business being here.”

Bob Vylan’s chants at the Glastonbury Festival prompted a police investigation.

Meanwhile, the BBC has apologised for allowing the live performance to stay on air.

Tim Davie, the director-general of the BBC, blamed staff for not cutting the broadcast.

He told Parliament’s culture, media and sport committee:

“Ending the livestream was an option open to those on the ground on the day, but that action was not taken.”
