Max scored 100 – his maiden century – against Calverton CC in Division A of the South Notts League.

He also took a wicket and held on to two excellent catches.

Aussie Max holed out on the boundary moments after hitting his first ton.

He reached the unforgettable score from 104 balls, hitting 11 fours and five sixes.

Flintham won the toss and chose to bat.

The side lost two of its top three batsmen in the first nine overs.

However, two substantial partnerships enabled the home side to reach 224 inside 40 overs.

Spencer Tayor (44) and Matt Winn (51) partnered Max.

Flintham eventually reaching 291 for nine in the 50th over.

Calverton were always behind on the run rate and wickets fell regularly.

Despite one batsman scoring 137 not out, Calverton lost by 51 runs in their 50 overs.

Flintham bowler Spencer Taylor took three in his 10 overs.

And a further three being taken by Tom Helliwell.

Tom took his three wickets in just five overs but conceded 25 runs.

Bowler Tom Helliwell

Tom said: “I’m pleased to be back after having to take time away from the game after a long-term injury he      sustained last season”.

Flintham scorer B Anthony remarked:

“The fielding by both teams was good.

“However, the century makers were dropped early on in their respective innings.

“If either had been held, it may have put a different perspective on the game.”
