In the US, a shooting has left at least four dead and many others injured.
Farmington police in New Mexico said that they believed the attacker was alone. The attacker “was confronted and then killed on scene”.
The police department posted on Facebook that “the suspect’s name is unknown, and at this time there are no known threats.”
Police said that at least three civilians died and many others were injured in the shooting that occurred on Monday.
In an exchange of fire with the suspect, two police officers were also wounded – one from the New Mexico State Police and another from the city police.
Both were stable.
A shooting incident was reported in Brookside Park, a city area, shortly after 11am.
On Monday, three schools remained in emergency lockdown while others were placed on what officials called “preventative lockdown”. Three schools remained on emergency lockdown, while the others were put in “preventative locking”.

The shooting is being investigated by the Farmington Police Department and San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the New Mexico State Police.
Officials at the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office called the incident an “open and active ongoing investigation”.
Farmington is located in northwest New Mexico near the Four Corners area. It has an estimated population of 46,000.
Around 180 miles (290kms) to the northwest is Albuquerque, the largest city in New Mexico.
