Gunmen attacked a Mexican holiday resort, killing seven people, including a child of just seven years old.
Three men, three women and a child were shot by armed men at the La Palma Resort in the small town Cortazar, located in central Mexican Guanajuato.
The attack that occurred on Saturday afternoon resulted in one serious injury.
Drug cartel violence has increased in the area, with rival groups fighting to control territory and trafficking route.
Social media footage shared by users shows the aftermath of an attack at the resort.

The video showed adults and children in swimming suits walking by dead bodies near an outdoor pool. However, it was not independently verified.
The security department of Cortazar said that “after the attack, the attackers fled but not without causing damage to resort store, taking the monitor and security cameras.”
Guanajuato is Mexico’s most violent State. It has been for many years.
