After the team’s loss to Manchester City, Sadio Mane of Bayern Munich punched Leroy Sane in his face.
Mane, who played for Liverpool, was seen with ex-Man City star Sane arguing on the pitch at the end of Tuesday’s Champions League match.
Sky Germany reported that Sane’s lips were bleeding, and that the pair had to be separated from each other by the other players in their dressing room.
Mane was taken separately by the team when they landed in Munich, while Sane took the bus.
Bayern Munich declined to comment.
After being a fan favorite during his stellar career at Liverpool, Mane signed a three-year contract with the German team.
Sane worked for City for four years, before joining Bayern in 2020.
However, their team was not able to overcome a scoreline of 3-0 at Etihad Stadium despite being the favourites for this season’s competition.
Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager and Bayern boss, was responsible for the defeat.
Pep Guardiola’s team put on an impressive performance with goals by Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland giving them an overwhelming lead for the second leg.
The only major honor that the Spanish manager has not received is the trophy.
