President Joe Biden confirmed that he would run for reelection in 2024.
On Monday, Mr Biden, age 80, stated that he intends to run for President in 2024.
He said, “I plan to run… but we are not ready to announce it yet” in an interview with Sky News’ US partner channel NBC.
According to NBC, both Mr Biden as well as Vice President Kamala Harris said that they would run together. White House advisers will make final decisions about launching the reelection campaign.
One source said to NBC that while the decision is complete, he resents being forced to make public announcements about what he has already made.
This follows a series of hints by the president that he would run for a second term at the White House.
Last month Mr Biden joked that he’s looking for a “back to back” term.

First lady Jill Biden stated that her husband intended to run for re-election. She stated that there was “pretty much nothing left to do” except to work out the date and time.
There is no challenger to the Democratic party at the moment and the Indictment of Donald Trump dominated the political spotlight.
Another advisor to Mr Biden said to NBC that the delay “preserves the option not to run”.
Concerns have been raised previously about Mr Biden’s health, as he will be 86 at his second term.
Although the delay is apparent, there are certain factors that could influence when his candidacy announcement will be made. These include the need to raise money for the campaign.
