At least 10 dead after fire at migrant facility in northern Mexico near US border

According to reports, several people were killed in an incident at a northern Mexican migrant facility, close to the US border.

Two sources from the local government claimed that at least 10 people were killed, while volunteers who responded to the blaze claimed that up to 37 people were among them.

The scene was captured on film and shows firefighters and soldiers helping to rescue the injured from a building of the National Migration Institute, Ciudad Juarez near El Paso in Texas.

After a large group of people tried to get past Mexican soldiers at the border, US officials stopped hundreds of Venezuelan migrants from entering the country.

Many people have been disappointed by the new asylum process that was introduced by Biden’s administration.

The US requires that asylum seekers book a meeting with US officials before they can use the app. However, users claim that they have not been able to get appointments through the government app because of glitches and high demand.

It has resulted in families being separated at the border, with no idea of when they will be reunited.

Critics have also highlighted technical issues with the app, and said it was unclear how many appointments were available each day.

According to the US Department of Homeland Security, updates to the app called CBP One will speed up and simplify the process.

The new rules will make it impossible for migrants to apply for asylum if they do not schedule an appointment at the US border port of entry, or use humanitarian programs available to certain nationalities.

To be eligible for asylum in the USA, they must first seek protection in any country they pass through.

This move is intended to discourage unauthorised crossings. It mirrors similar efforts made under Donald Trump, which were stopped in court.

Officials insist that the measure is not Trump’s. This is largely because there are exemptions and because other legal paths exist, including humanitarian parole for Cubans.
