Biden drops clearest hint yet about re-election bid at event with Springsteen

US President Joe Biden joked that he wants a “back to back” term in White House, while honoring iconic figures like Bruce Springsteen or Vera Wang.

Springsteen was recognized at the National Medal of the Arts ceremony “for his extraordinary contributions to the American Songbook”.

Colson Whitehead, a novelist who won back-toback Pulitzer Prizes, was presented by Mr Biden. He gave a glimpse into his future at the White House with quips about his hopes for re-election.

He said “Pretty good man”, before adding, “I’m kinda looking for a back to-back myself.”

In the coming weeks, the president will announce his candidacy for re-election as president in 2024.

Donald Trump who Mr Biden defeated in the 2020 election for the presidency, has already stated that he wants to be back at the White House during the next election.
