After mocking an employee of Twitter, Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter has resigned.
Haraldur Thorleifsson, worker, was not sure if he had been fired by the company after he was locked out of his computer at work with 200 other people.
He was unable to determine whether he was still employed so he tweeted MoCK.
“Your HR head is unable to confirm whether I am an employee. My emails have not been answered by you. Perhaps if you get enough people to retweet, you will answer me here. He wrote.
The Twitter boss, Musk, had a hilarious Twitter exchange in which he asked him questions about his work as well as his disability and needs for accommodations. (Mr Thorleifsson is a person with muscular dystrophy who uses a wheelchair).
Musk claimed that Mr Thorleifsson used as an excuse his disability which prevented him from typing but was tweeting up a storm.
Thorleifsson stated that he can write for about an hour and tweets from his phone, as long as he can use one finger to type.
He stated that his role as a senior manager was strategic and managerial and that accommodations were not a problem in Twitter 1.0 (pre Musk’s takeover).
Musk tweeted that Thorleifsson is a “prominent, wealthy Twitter account” and that he confronted him in public to obtain a large payout.
While the exchange was ongoing, Mr Thorleifsson (also known as Halli) said that he received an email stating that he was no more employed.
Musk changed his mind on Tuesday.
He tweeted, “I would like Halli to apologise for my misunderstanding of his situation.”
“It was based upon things I was told that were false or, in certain cases, true but not meaningful.”
Musk suggested that Mr Thorleifsson might not leave the company, and said that he was “considering remaining at Twitter”.
Mr Thorleifsson is a Icelandic resident with approximately 151,000 followers on Twitter.
In 2021, Twitter acquired Ueno, his start-up. He joined Twitter.
