Ukraine vows to revenge the death of a soldier that it claims was killed by Russian troops in a viral video posted on social media.
The video, which was posted online Monday, purportedly shows the murder of an unarmed Ukrainian soldier.
Last night, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, stated that “the occupiers” had killed “a brave warrior who bravely spoke to their faces: “Slava Ukraine!” “, or “Glory To Ukraine!”
Sky News was unable to verify the date and location of the footage.
However, the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine claimed that the victim was Tymofiy Mykolayovych Shadura from the Ukrainian service. He has been missing since February 3rd, following hostilities in the Bakhmut area.
Formal identification has yet to be established.
The video caused outrage in Ukraine.
Mr Zelenskyy stated: “I want all of us to unite to respond to his words, ‘Glory to a hero. Glory to the heroes. He said, “Glory to Ukraine” in a televised speech.
“And we’ll find the murderers.”
Andriy Kostin is the Ukraine’s general prosecutor. He said that the shooting was recorded as a criminal case in a section of criminal code that deals with violations of customs and war laws.
