Another violent week has passed in West Bank.
Six people were killed in six days, three Palestinians and three Israelis.
Mohammed Saleem (17 years old) was killed and shot during clashes between Israeli forces on Thursday night.
His funeral took place today in Azzun, West Bank.
Azzun can be found in the west-west part of the West Bank, just a few minutes from the checkpoint to Israel.
Many hundreds of Palestinians gathered at the cemetery to pay their respects. Some waved yellow Fatah flags while others were armed and disguised.
Sky News was told by a friend that Mohammed was a good student and a good family man. All the people in his town loved and respected him.
According to the Israeli Defense Forces, Mohammed Saleem was a member of a group that attacked Israeli cars along a nearby road and then threw Molotov cocktails towards Israeli soldiers.
He was treated by a doctor and saved.
“There was a bullet that went through his back, and it hit his heart directly. He was already dead.” Dr Mustafa Saleem said that witnesses have confirmed that he was being held by the IDF.
“He arrived dead. CPR didn’t work.”
Although there have been divisions and anger between the sides for a long time, it is getting worse.
This year, 64 Palestinians were killed in The West Bank or East Jerusalem. 13 of these victims were children.
Terror attacks have claimed the lives of twelve Israelis in 2023.
