In an effort to improve work-life balance, an Indian IT company sent staff a message asking them to “please return home”.
SoftGrid Computers created a system to notify employees when their shift ends.
A message appears on the screen that reads “Your shift time has ended.” In 10 minutes, the office system will be shut down.
Mohammad Ali Fanee, Head of Management, told Reuters that he believes in a work-life balance.
“We believe that if you’re happy inside, and your family is happy, then you can work quite well.”
Tanvi Khandelwal, an employee, stated on LinkedIn that her employer supports #WorkLifeBalance. They set this Reminder that locks my computer after business hours and gives me a warning.

The World Health Organisation warned in 2021 that long work hours could pose a risk to your health.
Study found that 55-hour workweeks were associated with a 35% greater risk of stroke and 17% higher risk for heart disease than those who worked 35-40 hours per week.
Recent developments include a “major breakthrough” during the largest trial ever conducted of a four-day work week.
The test, which allowed people to keep the same salary, was deemed successful by 56 of the 61 companies that responded saying they would continue with the new system.
