According to US officials, Chinese spy balloons were seen in the skies above five continents.
According to the White House, the US also kept in touch with its allies regarding the balloon issue.
This is after US fighter planes shot down a suspected Chinese spying device just off the coast South Carolina.
Another surveillance balloon, was spotted above Latin America on Monday.
Washington officials claim that the device was a spy balloon. They believe it was intended for China to use on sensitive military sites.
Beijing insists the balloons are intended for civil use and have blown off-course.
The US President Joe Biden directed that the balloon above the US be shot down over Atlantic, just off Myrtle Beach.
US Navy takes down a’spy” balloon from the ocean
Suspected spy balloon was the same size as a 20-storey building
The US Navy shared photos on Tuesday of the balloon being taken from the sea by hand.
Officials said the balloon was approximately 60m tall (200ft) and most likely weighed 71st (1,000lbs).
Because of its size and weight, and the risk it posed to property and people, authorities waited to bring the balloon down until it crossed the Atlantic.
In a Sunday statement, the Chinese foreign ministry said that the balloon shooting was an “obvious reaction” that “seriously violated international norms”.
