In the Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi and other regions of Ukraine, there were also reports of strikes.

Telegram user Mr Klitschko stated earlier that two schools in Solomyansk and one in Pechersk were damaged. One kindergarten is located in Solomyan. These facilities do not have any casualties.

“As a consequence of the Russian attack against civilian objects in the capital one person died and 20 were injured.” 14 people were taken to hospital, while six others were treated on the spot by medical personnel.

Reuters reported that more explosions were heard in the capital and the surrounding area following Russia’s first missile attack.

According to Ukrainian officials, the reports are the result of a string of Russian bombing strikes over the past few days. The most severe aerial bombardments of war occurred on Thursday.

According to a presidential aide in the capital, a hotel was damaged by the barrage.

The governor of Kyiv had warned of an incoming missile attack shortly before, and said that the air defenses were engaged targets.

“In fact they encouraged neo-Nazis to conduct open terrorism against civilians within the Donbas in every way possible.”

He said, “The West lied to us about peace. It was preparing to attack… now they are using Ukraine and its citizens to weaken and divide Russia.

According to state media, Putin stated that he had never permitted such a thing and would never permit anyone to do it to him.

Both the West and Ukraine rejected Moscow’s claims about the beginning of the conflict. They said that Mr Putin started a baseless war against aggression to seize territory and overthrow Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president.

“We will clean up the glasses and make more dumplings.”

Sky News correspondent YousraElbagir reports from Kyiv that a scream of shock breaks through the low murmurs made by emergency service workers in a central neighborhood.

Oksana Trufanova, a resident, came out from her basement shelter to discover the house across the street was in ruins with the surrounding area cordoned off.

Today, the wreckage of a Moscow rocket that was launched into Ukraine by Moscow fell on her neighborhood.

As she was preparing food for New Years Eve celebrations, the blast shaken her home.

“I made dumplings with potatoes and cherries in the morning, and they are now scattered all over the streets.”
