South Korea claims it has scrambled fighter planes and attack helicopters after North Korean drones “violated its airspace.”
According to the country’s joint chiefs, several unmanned North Korean drones crossed over the border and were found in South Korea’s territory Monday.
South Korea’s transport ministry stated that earlier flights from Incheon and Gimpo airports had been suspended after a request by the military.
According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency the country monitored the drones that crossed from North Korea over the Military Demarcation Line. This is the land border enclosed by a demilitarized area and separating the two countries.
