Brazil knocked out of World Cup after losing to Croatia on penalties

Brazil, the tournament favourites, have been eliminated from the World Cup after they lost to Croatia in quarter-finals. Croatia won on penalties of 4-2.

After normal time, the match was ended goalless.

Pele’s Brazil scoring record was broken by Neymar, who scored 77 FIFA-registered goals. This gave his team the lead at Education City Stadium in the first period of extra time.

Bruno Petkovic won the match with four minutes remaining. The game was ended 1-1.
