The future king wrote in the Huffington Post that the Earthshot Prize wanted to find the best of the finalists. We want to celebrate them and support them so that they not only increase their positive impact, but also show the world that there is hope for the future.

“Dire predictions about the natural world are not the only side of this story, and they don’t have to be our destiny.”

William spoke out about his motivations for the award, saying that he was inspired to do so by President John F Kennedy’s “Moonshot” mission to get a man to the moon.

He stated, “We face an almost impossible challenge: reverse the damage done to the planet and put ourselves on the path towards a more sustainable future.

“Repairing the planet will not be easy. But, it is in our best interests to take action to preserve our natural world.”
