The last couple of years have been quite different when Father Christmas visited.
Santa often had to sit at a desk to welcome children onto his lap, masking COVID-19.
However, in the USA things are beginning to look back to how they were before the pandemic.
According to one website, Father Christmas has experienced a 30% increase of demand for appearances than last year.
Nevertheless, the company has had to face many challenges since the pandemic. Since then, about 15% of its employees have retired or died.
Santas all over the country have the option to wear masks if they want, but it is not required in many areas.
However, there are exceptions to this rule. A table will be set up at Macy’s flagship store in New York that is world-famous and separates Father Christmas from the awestruck customers.
Mitch Allen, founder of HireSanta.com claims that his performers can earn as much as $12,000 (PS10,000) during the festive season.
His agency also accommodates requests for Santas who are more inclusive, including performers who are deaf, Spanish-speaking, women and black.
Melissa Rickard, 48, made her debut in her 20s and stated that she has not been caught yet by the children or parents.
“A child should not be able tell me I’m a girl in one sense.” This is the greatest compliment, because it means that I’m doing Santa justice. It makes my husband laugh.
Ms Rickard charges $175 per hour (PS145). Once her fuel has been paid, she donates the remainder to charity.
Millions of children all over the globe will be delighted to see Santa this Christmas. The feeling will be mutual.
Chris Landtroop from Santa agency Cherry Hill Programs said, “I can’t even describe how excited we are seeing everyone’s smiles this season at all locations without any covering up those beautiful faces.”
