Photo released of top secret documents uncovered in FBI search of Trump’s home

The FBI searched Donald Trump’s Florida house and found top-secret documents.

This comes as the US Justice Department asserts it has discovered attempts to obstruct their investigation into the discovery classified documents at the Mar-a-Lago estate of the former president.

In a court filing, the image showed the cover pages of classified papers with paper-clip binding. Some of these documents are marked “top secret//sci” and have bright yellow borders.

One of the pages can be identified as “secret//sci”, with a rust-coloured border and blank pages.

A cardboard box was placed next to them, containing gold-framed photos. This included a Time Magazine cover that features Mr Donald and a few other world leaders.

According to the department, “government records were likely hidden or removed” from a storage area even though Mr Trump’s representatives told officials that they had thoroughly searched the property.

The FBI executed an estate raid on August in part of an investigation into Mr Trump’s use of classified records.

Officers found 33 boxes with more than 100 classified documents during the search. They also discovered three confidential documents in office drawers.

The criminal investigation focused on the reasons the records were kept at the estate and whether Trump’s team deliberately misled them about the illegal presence of government secrets.
