After dropping in to an Irish pub the night before, Prince Harry was joined by the Dutch King to cheer on the athletes at Invictus Games.
King Willem-Alexander was in the mood as he and his wife watched the final of wheelchair basketball between the USA and the Netherlands. America won convincingly.
Friday will be the final day of competition for the event’s injured service personnel.
Harry, his friends and O’Casey’s Irish Pub at The Hague on Thursday evening. However, the owner stated that the prince had only drunk one pint of Guinness.
John Gulay, 51 years old, stated that Harry insisted on “I stick to one pint, then I’ll switch to lemonade”. He suggested that the round of tequila offered to him be shared with other drinkers.
The prince stayed in the pub beer gardens for approximately an hour before moving on to dinner elsewhere.
Harry was described by Mr Gulay as a “really kind guy” and he paid the tab for the royal.
He said, “They offered to pay but I said that I was really happy you guys were here and that the Invictus Games had been so good for our pub this week.”
The visit of the prince to the Netherlands is happening in the same week the interview he gave to US TV was headline.
NBC’s Harry said that he feels the guidance of Diana more than ever.
“It’s almost like she’s done her part with my brother, and now she’s back to helping me.” She helped him set it up and now she is helping me. “That’s how it feels,” stated the prince.
Some criticised him for not attending the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations this Summer due to “security concerns and everything else.”
He claimed he was visiting his grandmother , and that he wanted her to be “protected”. It wasn’t clear what the prince meant.
