After losing a vote against him, Pakistan’s prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted.
Last Sunday, opposition politicians made the motion. Khan responded by dissolving Parliament and calling a quick election. This was a move that the supreme court later ruled illegal.
Voting was called due to claims of economic and politically mismanagement. Opponents blamed him for not being able to revive the economy or tackle corruption.
Mr Khan was a former cricket star who rose to power in 2018. However, he recently lost his majority in parliament and was recently called “as good or gone” by a prominent newspaper.
He accused his adversaries of conspiring with the US to remove them, but has not provided any evidence. He has asked people to protest this weekend on the streets.
