American actor Ben Stiller was dragged by tennis star Nick Kyrgios into an argument with a fan while he was losing to Rafael Nadal.
Kyrgios asked an enthusiastic spectator “Are you watching?” during the quarterfinal of the Indian Wells Masters, California. As he was getting ready to serve,
26-year-old Australian tennis player added, “Are your skills good at tennis?”
A faint “no”, as heard in video footage, can be heard coming from the stands.
Kyrgios replies: “Exactly, then why are you speaking?”
He continued, “Do you tell him how to act?” The crowd laughed, and he said “No”.
Stiller, 56 years old, can be seen smiling from a few seats away.
In the final set of the exchange, the match was at deuce. Kyrgios lost 7-6 (7-0), 5-7, 6-4.
Kyrgios was a wildcard and entered the competition to play in the quarter-finals of the ATP Tour for the first time since 2019.
He beat eighth seed Casper Ruud to reach the third round. This was his first top-10 win in over two years.
These achievements proved that he is continuing to play the same form that saw him and Thanasi Kokkinakis win at the beginning of the year the Australian Open men’s doubles title.
