Russia’s military has continued its campaign to seize Ukraine’s capital by fighting in Kyiv’s suburbs and firing artillery.
According to Ukrainian officials, Russian forces attacked several suburbs of Kiev on the 19th of the invasion.
The Russian and Ukrainian officials are holding a new round of virtual talks. This has raised hopes for progress in the evacuation of civilians from besieged cities in Ukraine and the delivery emergency supplies to those areas that lack food, water, and medicine.
“Everyone is eagerly awaiting news. “We will definitely report in evening,” said Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian President.
Sky’s special correspondent Alex Crawford reports from a nine-story apartment building in the northern part of the city. The building was struck by artillery on Monday morning. It destroyed several floors and started a fire.

Later, Crawford reported from the site of an intercepted ballistic missile attack near the city center where a 59 year-old man was killed. Crawford also spoke with Alex Goncharenko, a local MP, who demanded urgent air support for Ukraine.
“If we don’t stop Putin, tomorrow will be Warsaw and tomorrow will be Riga. He said, “And I don’t know what will happen next.”
He said that he was certain the Russians wouldn’t take Kyiv but could destroy it.
Mr Goncharenko stated that “if they will penetrate the town, we will make hell for them.” Crawford suggested that they could make hell for Ukrainians. He replied, “It’s already hell for me.”
Authorities claim they have food stocks for up to two weeks for the two million residents still living in the city.
Two people were killed and seven others were injured when Russian forces attacked a plane factory near Kyiv. This set off a large fire.
Antonov is Ukraine’s largest plane manufacturing plant. It is also known for making many of the biggest cargo planes in the world.
Also, shells fell on Kyiv suburbs Irpin Bucha, Bucha, and Hostomel which were witness to some of the most brutal fighting in Russia’s failed attempt to seize the capital. Oleksiy Kuleba, chief of regional administration, said that the incident was broadcast on Ukrainian television.
Iryna Vereschuk, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minster, stated that efforts will be made to evacuate civilians trapped in Ukraine today through 10 “humanitarian corridors”, which include towns in the vicinity of the capital Kyiv as well as the eastern region Luhansk.
She said that she would once again try to block the movement of the humanitarian convoy transporting food and medicine from Berdiansk (in the southeastern Ukraine) to Mariupol.
Zelenskyy, President of NATO warns against attack on ‘homes’
This comes just 12 miles (20 km) after NATO was brought to the doorstep by an air strike at a Polish military base.
Threety-five people were killed in Sunday’s attack in Yavoriv. This place has been used for years by Western experts to train Ukrainian soldiers.
President Zelenskyy stated that Russia will soon launch missiles at the homes of NATO citizens if there is no no-fly zone.
After Russia declared that Western military aid convoys, which mainly come via Poland, are now legitimate targets, it was done.
President Zelenskyy stated that nothing was happening at the base that could pose a threat to the Russian Federation’s territory.
“And only 20 kilometers away are NATO borders. Last year, I warned NATO leaders that Russia would launch a war if it didn’t have strong preventive sanctions. We were correct.”
Sky News was told by the deputy foreign minister of Poland that the attack was “highly proactive” but that Russia is very familiar with the location of the border.
Sajid Javid, Health Secretary, said to Kay Burley of Sky News that any infraction by Russia into a NATO country would be “a war with NATO”.
“If any NATO country was attacked, even if a single Russian soldier stepped into NATO territory with a toe cap, it would be war with NATO. NATO would respond.
“There would be a significant reaction from NATO if Russia attacked, that’s what we have been very clear about.”
