A senior US defense official said that Russian forces are now three miles closer to Kyiv, having made advances on the ground over the past 24 hours.
After being stuck for days, Russia’s military may be just nine miles (15 km) away from the city center.
The defence official said that is the latest thing to happen in the last 24 hours.

According to Maxar satellite imaging company, new images have shown that the large Russian convoy headed for Kyiv near Antonov Airport was dispersed and redeployed.
Photographs show that armoured units can be seen maneuvering in and around the airport’s vicinity.
Separately, reports have emerged of Internet outages in the vicinity of Kherson. The US estimates that Russia fired 775 missiles since the start of the invasion.
